Talking capital. Working capital.
At Farrer & Co, we have a strong focus on providing private capital services acting for direct investors and co-investors (both UK and international), founders and managers and how those clients protect and invest their capital in commercial and alternative asset classes, including real estate, art and finance. In this podcast Simon Ward (link) and Andy Peterkin (link), partners in our corporate and financial services teams discuss the growth of, and opportunities in, the Fintech sector. In particular they discuss:
• the direction the Fintech proposition is going
• how the regulator in the UK is engaging with start-ups
• what asset managers and banks look for when looking at a technology proposition
This podcast is aimed at our UK and international investors, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and their advisers.

Thursday Sep 17, 2020
Thursday Sep 17, 2020
Last month we covered the recent Supreme Court judgment in the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (UK) (CIFF) case in an article. It can be read here if you missed it.
It is also the topic for our September podcast, on which I am joined by Julian Smith, a fellow partner in the Charities team. The case found that in principle members of all charitable companies owe fiduciary duties to the purposes of the charitable company.
In the podcast we delve into the technical detail of the case as well as considering its significance for charities and what practical implications may flow from this judgment. It will be relevant to those involved with charities established as a company limited by guarantee and possibly also other charities with two tier structures that involve members and trustees.
